We have a milestone coming up , come the 2nd of October !!!!
Our little underground party - Süd Electronic will be turning 10 !!!
A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone that has come out & indulged our passion over the years !! You are the Party !! A big thank you goes out to the dj’s who have come out & enthusiastically supported our way of throwing a party !!!

What will we be doing to mark the occasion ? Pretty much what we have been doing all along. High Quality Music , a wonderful & raw basement space, proper underground vibes , a space that allows for a freedom to express (rare these days ) whether you want to sashay , prance , jack or simply bob your head !

Two of the finest dj’s out there will be helping us mark the occasion . One a Legend from Chicago by the name of Boo Williams !!!
Another a fine dj from Germany and an all round decent fella by the name of Efdemin with plenty of local support in the form of Jitterbug
( an upcoming young producer from South London who has garnered much support for his current release , “beaten trax” on Uzuri –Support from the likes of Scott Grooves , Dj Bone , Neville Watson , Efdemin , Scott Ferguson, Anton Zap ++ ) Jitterbug is also a formidable dj . Our trusted resident Nick Craddock , another fine jock will be present too with a little help from Lakuti !

A little Bit More on our Guests

Boo Williams

Born July 20, 1967 in Chicago, Boo Williams has been a part of the city’s house music entourage since 1981. This was when he first stepped up to the turntables and started DJing. Later on in the 1990’s, Boo began production and then later remixing in ‘93.
A healthy diet of Larry Heard, Marshall Jefferson, Frankie Knuckles, Ron Hardy, stirred the flames of the 4 to the floor beat that has remained well alive ever since. In these early days, childhood collaborator turned life-long friend, Glenn Underground was to play an important role in Boo’s career.
The creative spark that emerged from their early collaboration contributed greatly to them becoming influential players in the Chicago dance scene and eventually way beyond . Boo Williams and his soulful, disco-edged brand of house right down to the tougher edged realms of house rocked, even closing a set for house legend Ron Hardy back in the day, The post 80’s acid and electronic sound of house was developing into one of a more soulful nature directly borrowing from its disco, funk and soul heritage and formulating the sub genres of house that we speak of to this day.
Boo has gone on to release some of the most essential house cuts on some the most revered labels such as Relief , Residual , Nitelife , Moods & Grooves , Guidance , Rush Hour &many more !!! Not to be missed !!!!!!!!!!

Efdemin

A friend of Süd and a perfectly well formed producer and a deadly dj Efdemin’s first ever London gig was back @ Süd in June 2007. A night that saw him play one of the finest sets we’d heard in a long while . He has since made plenty of returns to Süd . Those that made a sojourn to the recent addition of the Freerotation Festival would have gotten a taster of just what he is capable of. Efdemin is not only a great house dj but he is equally amazing and fully adept to playing a techno set .
Come the 2nd October he will be expertly blending house and techno.

Efdemin has recently been receiving props for his 2nd ace album on the much lauded Dial Records . An album titled “Chicago” – A reference & homage to the phenomenal contribution and impact Chicago has had on electronic music .

We are fully excited to welcome him back and are equally excited to have his company @ our 10th birthday!

Jitterbug

Jitterbug is quite happy with not having too much of the spotlight on him
though his talents as both a dj and producer will no doubt bring him to the fore. His current and 2nd ever release on Uzuri has brought quite a fair bit of attention from some of the most revered dj’s out there .
His mix on Uzuri’s Soundcloud continues to bring him new fans each day ‘ clocking up over a 1000 listen’s within a day and a half .
When not in the studio .Jitterbug can be found behind the counter at a certain record shop in the west end of London or writing for the ace Infinite State Machine blog .

Rounding off the proceedings will be the trusted ressies in the form of Nick Craddock and Süd Electronic & Uzuri Recording’s head honcho , Lerato , aka Lakuti who will also be celebrating her birthday on the 2nd October!!!

Süd will be making a return to the ace Camp basement – a stone’s throw from Old Street tube. A raw basement space perfectly ripe for a proper knees up . A great sound system will be in place too on the night. Oh, did we mention that the party will be going until 8 am the next day !!!

Your company will be greatly appreciated at this landmark event.

Hope you can make it !!!

A bit on Both Guests :

K - Hand aka Kelli Hand - Detroit ( Acacia Records , Third Ear , Distance , Studio !K7 )
A history charting the rise of electronic music from Detroit will be incomplete without any mention of Kelli Hand .
Kelli Hand has consistently and militantly represented the city & it’s music for a long long time .
With over 350 releases & over 350 appearances , it looks like Kelli is here to stay .
In the electronic music community, few DJs and producers have proven real staying power. Some explode onto the scene then fade into obscurity. Kelli Hand, or simply “K Hand,” continues to maintain as a true player throughout from her now two-decade career.
Hand’s exposure to early Detroit electronic music came via radio mix shows, resident DJ in Detroit for over two years, and recommendations from friends. She was part of the community that birthed techno and experienced the house scene firsthand, frequenting New York spots during the “Paradise Garage” era.
Hand began DJing and producing tracks, and was the first women attempting to break into the male-dominated genre worldwide, secures gigs and performances having audiences wanting more. Her ability to move seamlessly from house to techno awes many securing her DJ status.
Today more success came Hand’s way as a producer and remixer. From the Ananda Project to remixes for the excellent Norma Jean Bell her own releases, producing countless tracks of techno and house music . The formation of her label, Acacia Records (House), Gorsch Detroit (Techno), broke new ground, and the labels remains one of the few labels headed by a woman. The beauty of Kelli Hand is that she refuses to settle for anything less than the best.

On this occasion Kelli will be schooling us in all things Detroit , New York & Chicago House !!!! .

The people @ the excellent Gridface blog recently got Kelli on the phone and put together a great interview ahead of an appearance from her @ this year’s Detroit Electronic Music Festival : http://www.gridface.com/features/k-hand.html

Fred P Aka Black Jazz Consortium - New York ( Soul People Music , Underground Quality )

Fred P has truly captivated the house fraternity of late with his deep as the ocean house cuts on his very own Soul People Music as well as on Underground Quality . The word deep has recently been used to a point of overkill but one man that word applies to in his character as well as the music he makes is Fred . Fred is no new comer either . he has been carving and working on music for the past 20 years . so there is knowledge and skill there !!! .
Fred , Jus Ed , Dj Qu & Levon Vincent became much more than just New York dj’s and producers . they truly captivated and captured audiences from all over the place with their highly intoxicating take on house music .
articles and heavy features came from the likes of Resident Advisor , Xlr8 and many more but Fred & the rest of the crew remain focused and truly humble . 2010 Looks like it will be a rich year for Fred what with ace releases already garnering high praise on Soul People alongside Move D & Steve Oh . Contribution on Laid . Fred is also constantly on the road with gigs in Berlin , New York , Belgrade , Frankfurt , London Ireland , Philly , Miami Winter Music Conference 2010 For Ra .e.t.c. & satisfied audiences and promoters all around and more release planned for this year only the sky is the limit for this great master builder . The devastatingly brilliant Deep Things Ep truly cemented Fred position as a producer of note . Little White Earbuds could not get enough of Fred and made his ace Structure cd album their number one album for 2010 :
